Justice for Longyearbyen

Copernicus' Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL) is no meager achievement. It still seems unbelievable that we now have a pretty good approximation of how many people are leaving in each corner of the world! That being said, it is not without mistakes, especially in higher latitudes, such as the case of the Archipelago of Svalbard.

For the final assignment of OBIA, I decided to create a classification model trained on Norwegian settlements to assess wether or not it was possible to detect Longyearbyen (the capital and the largest settled area of Svalbard, where the famous Global Seed Vault is located).
